Free courses and professional development resources
IDF School of Diabetes – free online short courses
IDF School of Diabetes has a series of free short courses for diabetes prevention &management as well as complications, such as, ‘diabetes retinopathy’, ‘the role of diabetes educator’, ‘diabetes and cardiovascular disease’ and ‘management of diabetic macular edema’ with many are available in English, Spanish and French. Each course is about 60 minutes. The interactive courses aim to provide education to healthcare professionals in a flexible and self-paced environment.

IDF School of Diabetes – Diabetes Educators
This online course charges a fee but is reduced for the low income countries. A customised set of 11 modules addressing the ongoing needs of nurses, dietitians, physician assistants, pharmacists, physiotherapists and mental health workers involved in diabetes care. It is available in English, Spanish and French, and takes ~12 hours (or 3 hours per week, 4 weeks) to complete.

ESPE E-learning portal
The portal is based on learning categories of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. It contains core and advanced level learning modules, chapters and problem-solving cases, on normal development, pathophysiological mechanisms, and current views on diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. It also has an online forum to discuss topics and clinical cases. The resources are available in multiple languages like English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, French and Swahili.
