Type 1 diabetes warning signs – posters

Posters to help prevent Diabetic Ketoacidosis:

These posters aim to increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of type 1 diabetes so the right diagnosis and swift treatment can be initiated to prevent life-threatening Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA).

We are aware that some children and youth in under-resourced countries are mis-diagnosed for more common illnesses such as pneumonia, gastroenteritis, malaria or typhoid and some die from DKA.

DKA can also occur any time after diagnosis if insulin injections are missed, or if insufficient insulin is given at times of an acute illness.

These posters can be displayed in hospitals, community centres, churches or mosques, and other common areas.

If your language is not available in this selection of posters, or if you would like assistance with a DKA prevention campaign in your country, please email our Education Manager, Cecile Eigenmann.
