Do you have an idea for an advocacy project that could positively impact people living with type 1 diabetes?

If you live in one of the Latin American or African nations listed below, you may be eligible to apply to the Changemaker Projects.

The Changemaker Projects is a new initiative empowering people affected by type 1 diabetes to make a change for their community through funding, mentoring, networking, and recognition.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must be an individual, not an organization, and must either be:

A person living with type 1 diabetes, family member of a person living with type 1 diabetes, a community-centered health care professional with a clear interest in diabetes advocacy, or a human rights practitioner with an interest in type 1 diabetes.

Only applications from residents of the countries listed below can be considered. If your country is not listed, unfortunately your application cannot be considered.

Latin America: Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Mexico, and Panama.

Africa: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Madagascar, Mali, Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
